JLPT N5 online coaching in India: what to look for and what our course covers
By Japanese Ninjas Institute (TDI, Kundli, Delhi NCR) · Founder: Atishaya Jain, JLPT N1-certified trainer · Last updated
Good JLPT N5 online coaching in India means live classes, a beginner-first plan (hiragana, katakana, basic grammar, listening), regular mock tests and a trial class. The Japanese Ninjas N5 course is live online, 150 hours over about 6 months, ₹17,999 payable in instalments, with a free 2-day demo before you pay.
JLPT N5 is the first level of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test. If you are starting from zero and want a teacher rather than an app, online coaching is the quickest way to get structure and speaking practice. Here is what the test asks, what good N5 coaching should include and how our N5 course works.
What the JLPT N5 test asks
N5 has three sections: language knowledge (vocabulary and grammar), reading and listening. There is no speaking or writing section. The score is out of 180; to pass N5 you need 80 overall and the minimum in each section. The test is held twice a year in India, on the first Sunday of July and the first Sunday of December, and registration is run by each city's host institution.

When should you start?
The next JLPT after December 2026 is in July 2027 (the exact date will be confirmed on the official site). A six-month course started around January 2027 lines up with that test. If you need a proof of Japanese sooner, JFT-Basic and NAT-TEST are held more often — see JLPT vs NAT vs JFT.
Is N5 enough?
N5 is a starting point. It is the level commonly named for language-school study-visa applications to Japan (along with JFT-Basic), but most Japan-related jobs ask for N3 or N2 and above. Many learners continue straight to N4 and N3.
